Bringing back the bowl!

For a few years now, adults have been enjoying the bowl trend; from poke bowls, buddha bowls, smoothie bowls, goodness bowls, nourish bowls – you get the gist. Now we’re bringing back the bowl, this time for babies.

We’re on a mission to make first foods a better experience for babies and make their development our number one priority. Our Organic Baby Bowls help little ones discover a variety of organic first flavours, textures and colours, all with an important focus on interactive spoon feeding.

Our range features six variants, including pure-veg fruit-free options for parents who are seeking genuine veg-only with transparent labelling of true proportion, as well as different combinations of fruit, veg, and grains blends, making our bowls ideal first tastes for tiny tastebuds.

In developing these bowls, we kept three key things front of mind – babies, parents and the environment.

Benefits for baby

To ensure benefit for babies, we wanted to bring back bowls, so the purees are visible, which helps bubs’ learning journey.

The bowls are perfect for starting to explore interactive spoon feeding where parents can take cues from bub as they eat, helping to foster mindful mealtimes by enjoying meals one mouthful at a time. Unlike many other baby products, including pouches, bowls allow little explorers to see, touch and smell their food.

The range of age-appropriate purees cross a number of eating stages and eating occasions, so can be enjoyed throughout the day. We believe that variety helps babies and toddlers learn about new foods, flavours and textures, discover the joy of eating, and can help support the natural development of budding eaters.

Benefits for parents

For parents, we wanted to offer convenience so our bowls are portable and can be served warm or cold. They offer positive nutrition through the ‘as good as homemade’ puree, and help establish positive mealtime behaviours where parents can spend special time with their baby, making eye contact and improving baby’s motor and oral skill proficiencies.

The six bowls are named so that the flavours clearly represent the exact ingredients used, and in the true proportions with simple and straightforward ingredients so that parents can make clear informed choices about snack and mealtimes. You’d be surprised how many other products on the market lead with the name of one of their veggie ingredients like pea or sweet potato when actually the primary ingredient is apple. True proportion labelling is so important to help in assisting parents to make informed choices about what foods they feed their babies.

Benefits for the environment

Lastly, at Little Bellies, we’re always Striving for Sustainability and unlike pouches, our bowls are recyclable and reusable – in fact they’re great for storing other Bellies snacks amongst other things!
